Big Ben

Today the class of Ata hapara worked with the Cybersmart Sharon and she told us to colour a image but we had to colour it in different. and I was so exited. When I was trying to find the Mona Lisa I stumbled across Big Ben and saw this beautiful blue colour.

Today we learned what are fake URL and what are real ones then we had to make a URL about a fake  newsletter and i made one about dinosaurs in goblin forest. fake URL are when the spelling  is wrong and when there's .com and co.

Today for math we went outside taking pictures of different object for example I learned that perpendicular lines have two lines shaped as an + perpendicular has 90 degrees on the right angle. There are a lot of lines like Vertical lines, Horizontal, Perpendicular and Parallel lines. It was fun finding lines but the most hardest was the Horizontal but after i found it I was proud of myself.

Whats a polygon?

Today the year 7&8 in Ata Hapara learnt what a polygon is and i'm about to share what I have learnt.

 

So basically a Polygon is a 2D shape and the word Polygon stands for many sides. In this screenshot it shows the names for polygons based on the number of sides. A polygon is a flat shape that cannot have intercepting lines or if it's a 3D shape then that isn't a polygon. For example in the other screen shot below this shows you whats not a polygon and what is a polygon.

Cultural festival

On a warm sunny day it was a normal Wednesday but our school Kapa Haka group went to a Cultural festival. the first thing I did when we got into class I felt so nervous and wanted to barf but I got through it. 

After that all the boys and girls were forced to put on eyeliner by the gruesome teachers when we got our uniforms and we did a practice run and I called the leader of our group a peacock and I got chased. We got on the bus and went to the great Horn castle arena. 

But the ride was way too long for my comfort so me and my best friend Ashur were talking about games like rocket league and others we play together. when we got there it got chilly, I hated it while we were getting in our lines we had to put on a piw piw which was so itchy! also I saw my family and my grandmother tried to take photos so I hid.

When we got backstage the nervousness kicked in again when we got on the gigantic stage with all the lights shining in our eyes. All of our practice came down to this. I sang my heart out and was so proud at the end. And when the tuakana took of the piw piw, I was 

relieved that its off and went uptop to watch the other groups and 

They were all great but te waka unua performance was shocking

The first thing they did was this amazing hip hop dance and secondly they did this pacifica thingy which was great but the main deal was the kapa haka and it was spectacular

But then we had to leave after that. When we got back and ashur lost his shirt but it was a roller coaster when we found it I got back home and slept for 5 hours      

 

my adventures in technology

in technology we make great items like an amazing dice i made and you Can keep it to. in electronics were making a hoop with a lot of wires. were also making a tic tac toe in plastic and i'm making it about maori culture. tech is an amazing thing all of us next term i hope i get my hoop and board ready in time. 

Maurakau and bone carving

Every Wednesday we do maurakau and bone carving with our teachers Chris and Kevin with some of the year 7&8. i have been enjoying the experience so much. 

and there have been some up and downs like the first week we did it i fainted in font of the whole class i was so embarrassed still to this day.

i love when we do bone carving but the bone smells so bad but we did some great designs but i didn't have time to make my design i was devastated while my friends created awesome carvings.

i loved doing it and i wish we can do it again.

Today Whea Willie make us do reading every day for a week now but i love reading so i don't mind but some people were talking and it wasn't good. 

today i learnt to do my division easier in tangaroa one of our class rooms 

i promise to get straight on to my silent reading without talking 

The monsters underneath the bed

It's a cold winter and nobody believes that there's a gigantic bone crushing monster under my tiny bed my siblings think i'm insane! but it's true and i'm 

gonna get proof. 

I wake up with a smile on my face to start my adventure i invite my two best friends Tyler is the engineer in our group and Jacob is the popular one with all of the attention going to him.

I told Tyler if he could help build a camera to get proof and to see who stealing my crackers! he agreed and he yelled "Jacob!! get us drinks". 

Its six o clock and we finished before the street lights turned on 

"But were's Jacob with our drinks" says Tyler with a worried face we get scared what if the monster took him and gobbling him up piece by piece. 

We ran up in to my room shaking like a fainting goat under the sheets then....BOOM "Something is looking for us" whispered Tyler "HA HA HA COME ON ITS DINER"screamed the monster we ran pushing the monster. 

3 am struck and i'm wide away holding a bat. it's quiet and everybody's calm except me "KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK ANYBODY HOME!

Tyler did you hear that i whispered holding the bat at the door "Huh no are you okay" he shout's after i'm holding the bat at his head i think its the monster.

This ginormous hole ripping my floor like a king eating the finest KFC then out of the blue he says "You nark" taking bark with him i burst into tears hitting him straight in the eye with the bat breaking completely.

My mom rushes in my room hearing all the ruckus then seeing the monster gobbling bark she screams "What the hell is that" "I'm the monster" with a grin on his face "Wheres Jacob" Tyler screeched "I'm over here" chucking the drinks burning the monsters skin "ree it burns"  run everybody its about to blow the whole house blows up destroying everything we own "my house" my dad screams at me with a furious face.

A whole year without a house but we now live in a gorgeous house with no monsters i think
