Wiremu Tamihana

Today in Te Reo Maori learnt about Wiremu Tamihana and we had to take notes about his life.

And he was born in 1804 in a place called Tamahere near Cambridge however the name he got from birth was Tarapipipi.

Another one is when he was young he wanted to become christian and he got his new name Wiremu Tamihana.

In the 1850 Wiremu Tamihana and other people wanted to convince Maori people that it's nessesary for maori to have a king to protect the lands andvto lead tribes.
